Recently the Mayflower School District sought input from parents about the possibility of considering a four-day school week calendar for next year. The district has scheduled two public meetings to share information related to the topic and answer questions. The meetings are scheduled for Sunday, January 30 at 3:00 and Thursday, February 3 at 6:00. Both sessions will be held in the Mayflower High School Cafeteria. Additionally, the district is working to develop an FAQ on the topic. If you have any questions on the subject, please submit them at the following link: https://forms.gle/KG3WA9utoS6kvA3FA. Thank you for your input.

There have been some requests for the data from the parent survey regarding face coverings. Individual responses will not be shared as respondents were assured their responses would be anonymous and confidential. However, you may view the answers to the other questions on the survey at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-LFwqiRigWrzUUqh4JNesj4sierDWIpx83sP28cZKeo/edit?usp=sharing
Parents were sent a survey link on Friday requesting their input on a possible face-covering policy. The survey results were not overwhelming, but most parents asked the district to implement a face-covering policy, at least temporarily, while positive cases remain at a high level. During a special board meeting tonight, the superintendent recommended a face-covering policy adopted by the board, effective January 18, 2022. The policy can be accessed at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QyWUiqaCgichphMLp0aR7ZzaQ6_NlWd69pcREtTWsko/edit?usp=sharing. The purpose of the policy is to help keep students learning on campus. Implementing a face-covering policy by a district lessens the number of students required to quarantine due to close contact with someone positive for Covid-19. Additionally, the policy will only remain in effect as long as established parameters that, when met, will roll the face-covering requirement off. As such, all students will be required to wear face-coverings starting Wednesday, January 19th. Thank you for your input on the survey and your understanding and support on this matter.
The board will meet in a special called meeting tonight at 6:00 in the high school library to consider a face-covering policy. Results from the survey sent on Friday will be considered to assist in decision-making. If you have not yet completed the survey, please do so at the following link at your earliest convenience: https://forms.gle/41nj4fYm1R66Ep918. Thank you very much for your input.

Due to rising positive Covid cases and student quarantines, Mayflower School District will observe an AMI day for students on Friday, January 14. The district is already scheduled to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, 17 as well. During the time away from campus the district will thoroughly clean and disinfect all campus facilities. Please refer questions about student assignments to their teachers, and refer general questions to the appropriate campus. At this time, the district intends to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18.
Bigelow basketball games for Thursday have been cancelled.
