Special Education

The Mayflower School District provides opportunities for all students to learn in their least restrictive environment. Mayflower schools offer a variety of settings for students with disabilities. Those settings include Resource classrooms, Self-Contained classrooms and Inclusion settings. Each tailored to meet the need of the individual student.

Related services personnel are also available to serve students with disabilities. Related services can include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Special Education personnel work closely with speech/language pathologists, principals, regular educators, and parents to determine appropriate programming and placement for eligible students.

The Mayflower District currently serves approximately 131 special education students.  Current staff includes 8 special education teachers and 6 paraprofessionals.
