Parents were sent a survey link on Friday requesting their input on a possible face-covering policy. The survey results were not overwhelming, but most parents asked the district to implement a face-covering policy, at least temporarily, while positive cases remain at a high level.
During a special board meeting tonight, the superintendent recommended a face-covering policy adopted by the board, effective January 18, 2022. The policy can be accessed at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QyWUiqaCgichphMLp0aR7ZzaQ6_NlWd69pcREtTWsko/edit?usp=sharing.
The purpose of the policy is to help keep students learning on campus. Implementing a face-covering policy by a district lessens the number of students required to quarantine due to close contact with someone positive for Covid-19. Additionally, the policy will only remain in effect as long as established parameters that, when met, will roll the face-covering requirement off.
As such, all students will be required to wear face-coverings starting Wednesday, January 19th.
Thank you for your input on the survey and your understanding and support on this matter.

The board will meet in a special called meeting tonight at 6:00 in the high school library to consider a face-covering policy. Results from the survey sent on Friday will be considered to assist in decision-making. If you have not yet completed the survey, please do so at the following link at your earliest convenience: https://forms.gle/41nj4fYm1R66Ep918.
Thank you very much for your input.
