After many missed school days, countless
hours in the barn, thousands of miles driven, and many successes/failures, the 2020 Mayflower FFA & 4H Show Season is officially over.
To say this year looked different would be a huge understatement. However, our students pushed through with determination at the forefront of their minds. This year we had twenty FFA students from the High School and six 4H members from the Middle School and Elementary School exhibit their project(s) at the fairs. We were able to exhibit these projects to 4 different shows all across Arkansas.
I could not be more proud of all the hard work these students put in to be successful over the 6 months. Most of these members went out in the middle of April to pick out their livestock to show. These students had no idea if they would get to show due to this pandemic, but they stayed committed to their passion. Through the summer, money was spent on feed, supplements, and supplies. The hours were still spent in the barn working all while the unknown was high as ever. These young leaders showed their true self this year, and my hat goes off to them. We may not have gotten Grand Champion on every project we had, but I know these kids deserve some recognition.
To those who have been so patient with our students, thank you for your willingness to help them achieve in the classroom so they can compete in other areas. To those of you who sent encouraging messages to myself and these exhibitors, THANK YOU! Those small pieces of motivation got us through the tough year. Finally, to those who came to the shows, you are so awesome! We always appreciate your support, love, and passion for the students.

Stakeholder Input Survey for Superintendent Selection Process
The Mayflower School District, Board of Education, Mayflower, Arkansas, is soliciting input in the superintendent selection process. Numerous meetings have been scheduled with the consultants from McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. to receive input. We realize not everyone’s schedule allows attendance at one of those meetings. Please provide your input by answering the questions on the survey here.
Family and Community
If we close school for snow or another reason students can now make up the day by doing work at home. It will be called an AMI (Alternative Method of Instruction) day. Our plan has been State approved and can be seen here.
